CONGRATULATIONS
Jerry Whisman Jr – Employee of the Second Quarter 2008
Jerry is being recognized for his innovative and responsive services in information systems support to division and department employees and customers. In a short time with the division, his accomplishments have been many and felt across all areas of the division and beyond. His resourcefulness and approach to getting things done have been extremely crucial in accomplishing many of the division’s key objectives and supporting the vision of the team.
Some highlights of his initiative and major accomplishments are as follows:
- Implemented and provided training to all employees for the new Customer Relationship Management application and made configuration changes to make the application more user friendly and expedient for Information Center staff. His negotiations with the vendor saved the division approximately $8,000 in the purchase of the system.
- Applied creativity and skills to make the extensive data in the division’s licensure database more accessible, on demand, to division management and staff by finding reporting solutions that significantly reduced staff’s time and effort.
- Contributed significantly to the usefulness and visual appeal of the division’s website by negotiating successfully with Government Information Center (GIC) to change our website’s common-look-and-feel (CLF) menu layout and reconfigured the website layout to consistently display information throughout the site.
- Coordinated with GIC to convert approximately 300 of the division’s applications and other types of forms to a fillable format; this initiative enabled customers to fill out the forms electronically, instead of hand-writing them, enabling fewer omission data entry errors.
