License Renewal

Information About Renewal Applications for All Licenses

Electrician licenses expire on June 30 of even years (e.g., 2010, 2012). Inspection Agency permits expire on June 30 each year.

Several weeks before your license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee.

Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you.  To check and update your contact information online, click Change Contact Information.

For information on continuing education (CE) requirements, refer to Section 8.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations.

To renew an active license, you will need to provide information about your CE and liability insurance.

To renew an inactive license, you will need to provide information about CE.

How to Renew an Expired License

If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will expire. It is illegal to practice while your license is expired.

You may renew an expired license for a period of one year after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online and paying a late fee. You will also be required to submit documentation of continuing education and proof of liability insurance. However, if the license has been lapsed for more than one year, you must reapply as a new applicant or by reciprocity.
