Continuing Education and Audit Information

How to Request Continuing Education (CE) Approval

Both licensees and CE course providers may request to have CE courses approved by the Board. You must use the DELPROS online portal to request approval of a CE course(s) that you either have taken or want to take (licensees) or want to provide to licensees (providers). For more information on how to submit a request, see the Land Surveyors Service Requests webpage.

It is important to have all of your course documentation available as you must upload the information in the Service Request application.

Continuing Education Requirement

The amount of Professional Development Hour’s (PDH’s) that you are required to complete depends on when your license was issued during the full licensure period. If this is your first renewal and:

IF you are issued the license… THEN the PDH’s requirement is…
On or after 7/1 odd years but before 7/1 even years 12 PDH’s
On or after 7/1 of even years but before 3/1 odd years 0 PDH’s
On or after 3/1 of odd years 24 PDH’s

Active Land Surveyors must complete 24 hours of approved PDH’s during each full licensure renewal period between July 1 and June 30 odd-numbered years (2019-2021, etc.).

  • No more than 8 PDH’s for any renewal period may be obtained by an online course.
  • If your 62 years old and over, at the time of license renewal and retired (working less than 20 hours weekly) you will need only 12 PDH’s for each renewal period. A total of 4 PDH’s may be obtained by online courses for each renewal.

For complete information on the PDH requirements, see Section 10.0 of the Board’s Rules and Regulations.

Approved Activities

General Audit Information

Random audits are performed by the Board to ensure compliance with the license requirements. License holders selected for the random audit must verify that they have maintained the required PDH and any other information required by the Board to confirm their continued eligibility for the license. For complete information, see Section 10.6 of the Board’s Rules and Regulations.

Audit Requirements

Do not upload any PDH documentation into DELPROS unless notified that you have been selected for audit.

If you are selected for audit, you must upload a copy of:

  • the certificate of attendance or completion (course agendas, brochures, outlines or syllabi)
  • each PDH course that you entered in the CE Tracker in DELPROS
  • your embossed Land Surveyor seal. Verify that it is “readable” after you upload
