Scheduling the Examination
Applicants for a license by reciprocity must take the Delaware State Drainage Examination. The Division of Professional Regulation offers the examination annually in April and October. The application, all required documentation and the appropriate pro-rated processing fee must be received no later than 60 days before the examination date.
If the Board approves the applicant to sit for the examination, the Board office will notify the applicant of the test date and the examination fee due. The examination fee must be paid prior to the test date(s).
Note: Temporary licenses are not available.
Notification of Examination Results
The Board office will notify the applicant of the examination results in writing.
The written notification of a passing score is not a license to practice. If the applicant passes the examination, the Board will consider the application for licensure during its next meeting. If approved, the Board office will issue the license.
If the applicant fails the examination, the applicant may re-take the examination. The instructions for re-testing are sent with the notification that the applicant failed.
