Department of State: Division of Professional Regulation: Board of Massage and Bodywork

License Renewal

Information About Renewal Applications for All Licenses

Massage and Bodywork licenses expire on August 31 of even years (e.g., 2010, 2012).

Several weeks before your license expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee. The notice will also explain how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.

Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you.  To check and update your contact information online, click here.

To renew your license, you will be required to attest to completing the required continuing education (CE) and maintaining current CPR certification. For information on CE requirements, refer to Section 7.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations.

How to Request Inactive Status and Reactivate

If you are not actively practicing in Delaware, you may submit a written request to place your license on inactive status to the Board office.
To reactivate an inactive license, see Section 6.2 of the Rules and Regulations.

How to Renew a Lapsed License

If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will lapse. It is illegal to practice while your license is expired.

You may apply to renew within one year of the expiration date by completing a renewal application, paying a late fee, attesting to completing the required continuing education (CE) credits and to possessing current CPR certification.

Following a late renewal, you will receive an audit notice. Within 20 days of the notice, you are required to submit copies of:

  • certificate(s) of attendance for CE courses that you completed for renewal of your license
  • front and back of current CPR card.

If you fail to renew within one year and wish to resume practicing, you will have to reapply as a new applicant and meet the requirements for licensure in effect at the time of your application.
