When to Register
If you have not completed 1500 internship hours and wish to work in a Delaware Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Intern to attain the required pre-licensure hours of experience, you must register as an Intern.
IF you … |
THEN you must … |
Attend(ed) a US school or college of pharmacy |
Be in at least your first professional year. |
Graduated from a school or college of pharmacy outside the US |
Have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certificate. |

Registering as an Intern – U.S School
Before registering as an intern, you must be in your first professional year in pharmacy school.
- Enclose non-refundable processing fee by check or money order made payable to the “State of Delaware.”
When your application is complete, the Board office will review it and, if approved, will issue your license.
When you complete your internship with a preceptor, arrange for the preceptor to submit the completed Affidavit of Intern Experience form. If your preceptor changes, you must submit a new Affidavit of Preceptor form within ten calendar days of the change.
Registering as an Intern – Graduate of Foreign School
Before registering as an intern, you must have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Examination Committee (FPGEC) Certificate. Before applying as a Pharmacist, you must complete 1500 hours of internship after the date of your FPGEC certification. See Pharmacist licensure requirements for more information.
- Enclose non-refundable processing fee by check or money order made payable to the “State of Delaware.”
- Enclose copy of the FPGEC Certificate. For an application, see www.nabp.net.
When your application is complete, the Board office will review it and, if approved, will issue your license.
