Department of State: Division of Professional Regulation: Board of Examiners of Psychologists

License Renewal

Information About Renewal Applications

Psychologist licenses and Psychological Assistant registrations expire on July 31 of odd years (e.g., 2009, 2011).

Several weeks before the expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee. The notice will also explain how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.

Please keep your contact information in our records up-to-date so that notices we send will reach you.  To check and update your contact information online, click Change Contact Information

On the renewal application, you will be asked to attest to completing the required continuing education (CE). Section 10.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations explains the CE requirements. Following the renewal, a percentage of licensees/registrants will be randomly selected for audit of their CE.

The Psychologist Assistant renewal application will also ask about supervisory changes. See Section 9.0 of the Board’s Rules and Regulations.

How to Renew a Expired License

If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will expire. It is illegal to practice psychology while your license is lapsed.

You may renew a license for a period of one month after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online, paying a late fee and attesting to completion of the required CE. However, if the license has been lapsed for more than one month, you must reapply.
