NEW REGULATIONS: New regulations on Real Estate continuing education requirements became effective on July 11, 2012. These rules revise both the amount and content of continuing education required to renew a Delaware Real Estate Broker, Associate Broker or Salesperson license. Brokers are responsible for ensuring that licensees meet the new continuing education requirements by the upcoming expiration date of April 30, 2014. For information about a change in the continuing education audit process, click Renewal and Audit Responsibilities of Brokers.

COMMISSION FUNCTION: It is the authority of the Delaware Real Estate Commission (hereafter designated as "the Commission") as provided for in Chapter 29 of 24 Del. C., § 2901-2960 to license and renew the licenses of qualified salesperson and broker applicants. The Commission has appointed an Education Committee to assist it in determining acceptable courses of instruction, seminars and lectures to be submitted to the Commission for approval. The Commission may also discipline any licensee found to be in violation of the licensing statute or the administrative code of the Commission. The Commission is also responsible for review and registration of out of state lands sales developments.

FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS: The Delaware Real Estate Commission meets the second Thursday of each month at 9:00 a.m. The meetings are open to the public and are held in Conference Room A of the Cannon Building, 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, Dover, Delaware.

To assure consideration of your license application at the next meeting, the Commission office must receive all of these items no later than 4:30 PM ten full working days before the meeting date:

  • Completed, signed and notarized application form
  • Fee payment
  • All required supporting documentation (see “License Requirements” on the menu to your left).
