Information about All Renewals
Licenses expire on July 31 st of odd years (e.g., 2007, 2009).
Effective with your 2007 renewal, the Division of Professional Regulation offers online renewal with the use of a major credit card. You will receive a notice to advise you when your renewal application is available for submission online. This will be your only renewal notice. The notice will explain how to access online renewal and how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.
How to Renew an Active License
To renew a license in Active status, you will be asked to attest to completing the required continuing education (CE) in accordance with Section 8.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations. After the renewal, a percentage of licensees will be randomly selected for audit of their CE.
Note: Please do not send any CE logs or other documentation to the Board office unless you are requested to do so. Also, do not send any payment if you renew online.
How to Renew a Lapsed License
When your license lapses, you are not allowed to practice.
You may renew a license for a period of one year after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online, paying a late fee, and attesting to completion of the required CE. However, if the license has been lapsed for more than one year, you must reapply as a new applicant or by reciprocity.
How to Reactivate an Inactive License
You may apply to the Board for Inactive status for up to five years (Section 4.2). If you wish to reactivate a license that is in Inactive status so that you can practice in Delaware (that is, to return to Active status), you must complete an application form, submit proof of 20 CEU’s completed within the preceding 24 months (30 CE’s for a triple license) as required by Section 8.2.3, and pay the processing fee. |
