Information about All Renewals
Speech/Language Pathology, Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispenser licenses expire on July 31 of odd years (e.g., 2009, 2011).
Several weeks before the expiration date, a renewal notice will be mailed to the address on your record. This notice will explain how to access the online renewal application. To complete the online renewal application, you must use a credit card to pay your renewal fee. The notice will also explain how to request a paper renewal application if you are unable to renew online.

How to Renew an Active License
To renew a license in Active status, you will be asked to attest to completing the required continuing education (CE). Section 8.0 of the Board's Rules and Regulations explains the CE requirements.
Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispenser licensees will also be asked about equipment calibration. Section 7.0 of the Rules and Regulations explains the calibration requirement,
Following the renewal, a percentage of licensees will be randomly selected for audit of their CE. The equipment calibration records of the selected Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispenser licensees will also be audited.
How to Renew an Expired License
If you do not renew your license before the expiration date, your license will expire. It is illegal to practice while your license is expired.
You may renew a license for a period of one year after the expiration date by submitting a renewal application online, paying a late fee, and attesting to completion of the required CE. However, if the license has been expired for more than one year, you must reapply as a new applicant or by reciprocity.
How to Reactivate an Inactive License
You may apply to the Board to place your license in inactive status for up to five years (Section 4.2). You cannot practice while your license is inactive. If you wish to reactivate a license that is in inactive status so that you can resume practicing in Delaware, you must complete an application form, submit proof of completing the required CE within the preceding 24 months (Section 8.2.3) and pay the processing fee. |
