DEPARTMENT OF STATE: DIVISION OF PROFESSIONAL REGULATION

NEWS

Professional Regulation Receives Employer Of The Year Award

The Delaware Division of Professional Regulation was honored with the “Employer of the Year” award at the Goodwill of Delaware and Delaware County, Inc. Annual Awards program held on April 25, 2008 at the Chase Center on the Riverfront,.

The division was recognized as an organization that harmonizes with Goodwill’s mission of providing work opportunities to individuals with barriers to employment and supporting them in a professional work environment.

The division began their relationship with Goodwill Staffing Services in April 2006 largely in response to fulfilling the division’s hiring needs. Today, seven Goodwill employees help the division fulfill its mission to “protect the public”.

Delaware Secretary of State Harriet Smith Windsor and Director James Collins accepted the award before the 600- plus attendees of distinguished guests and honorees.

Director James Collins stated, “I cannot think of a more important reason to receive an award than for treating employees well.”

Board And Commission Member Appointments

The Division of Professional Regulation accomplishes its mission to credential qualified professionals and protect the citizens of Delaware by partnering with 32 regulatory boards and commissions. The Governor's Office and the division rely on Delaware's citizens to serve as board and commission members to carry out this very vital aspect of government service. These regulatory boards are comprised of both professional and public members.

Governor Ruth Ann Minner makes appointments to various boards and commissions of the State of Delaware and handles the board appointment process through her office. If you are interested in learning more about the board appointment process, you may obtain information here.

To learn about the boards/commissions which are under the Division of Professional Regulation's statutory authority, see Boards & Professions.
