Continuing Education and Audit Information



Effective September 2019, the Council on Real Estate Appraisers amended their continuing education (CE) rules and regulations to remove the requirement to complete 14 hours of CE live in a classroom setting.

All approved courses may be completed online.

No changes were made regarding the your requirement to complete the 2 hour DE Law, Rules & Regulations course and the 7 hour USPAP course.

How to Request Continuing Education(CE) Course Approval

If you know or have any doubt that a CE course that you have taken or want to take is not approved by the Board, you should request to have the course reviewed and approved by the Board. You must use the DELPROS online portal to request approval of the CE course(s) through a Service Request. Continuing Education Requirement

The amount of CE that you are required to complete depends on when your license was issued during the full licensure period. If this is your first renewal, and you hold a:

ASSESSORS LICENSE
AND you are issued the license… THEN the CE requirement is…
On or after 11/1 of odd years but before 11/1 of even years 14 hours
On or after 11/1 of even years but before 7/1 of odd years 0 hours
On or after 7/1 of odd years 14 hours
ALL APPRAISER TYPE LICENSES
AND you are issued the license… THEN the CE requirement is…
On or after 11/1 of odd years but before 11/1 of even years 28 hours
On or after 11/1 of even years but before 5/1 of odd years 14 hours
On or after 5/1 of odd years but before 7/1 of odd years 0 hours
On or after 7/1 of odd years 28 hours
For a full licensure renewal period between November 1 and October 31 of the previous odd-numbered years (2019-2021, etc.):

  • Active Certified Assessor must complete 14 hours of approved CE
  • Active Appraisal Trainee must complete 28 hours of approved CE
  • Active Certified Residential Real Property Appraiser must complete 28 hours of approved CE
  • Active Certified General Real Property Appraiser must complete 28 hours of approved CE
  • Active Licensed Real Property Appraiser must complete 28 hours of approved CE

Qualifying education courses must be:

  • a minimum of 15 hours in length and must include an exam
  • pre-approved by the Council

To submit your Request for Approval of Education Activity, you must submit a service request for CE Course Approval and provide all required documentation at least 60 days before the scheduled offering.

Approved Activities


Entering Continuing Education in the CE Tracker

Go to the DELPROS online portal, and then click on Apply/Manage a License and Service Requests. If you:

  • are already an existing user, log in with your email address and password under the existing user section.
  • have not yet created a DELPROS user account, click on REGISTER.

After creating your user account or logging into the DELPROS online portal, you may begin entering your CE.

  • Click on the CONTINUING EDUCATION link in the dark blue banner at the top of the page
  • Click on ADD COURSE button
  • After choosing your profession, complete the other fields and click on SAVE
  • You will get a message of Success if the information you entered was created successfully
  • Click on CONTINUE to add more courses, upload documents, or delete entries if you made an error

When you are done, click on your Dashboard on the dark blue banner at the top of the page to renew your license or choose another service.


General Audit Information

Random audits are performed by the Council to ensure compliance with the license requirements. License holders selected for the random audit must verify that they have maintained the required CE and any other information required by the Council to confirm their continued eligibility for the license.

Audit Requirements

Do not upload any CE documentation into DELPROS unless notified that you have been selected for audit.
If you are selected for audit, you must upload a copy of:

  • the certificate of attendance/completion for each CE course that you entered in the CE Tracker in DELPROS

The documentation must show:

  • Your Name
  • Course Date
  • Course Instructor
  • Course Sponsor
  • Course Title
  • Course Hours
