How to Request Continuing Education (CE) Approval

To submit a request for a CE course approval, you must use the DELPROS online portal for Service Requests. Go to the Service Request webpage and follow the instructions on how to submit the Service Request.

  • It is important to have all of your course documentation available as you must upload the information in the Service Request application.

Continuing Education Requirement

The amount of continuing professional education(CPE) that you are required to complete depends on when your license was issued during the full licensure period. If this is your first renewal, and you are licensed:

  • less than one year – you are not required to do CPE
  • more than one year, but less than two years – you are required to complete one-half of the required hours of approved CPE

During each full licensure renewal period between June 1 and May 31 even-numbered years (2018-2020, etc.):

  • active Dentist or Dentist Academic licensees must complete 50 hours of approved CPE
  • active Dental Hygienists must complete 24 hours of CPE

For the Dentist-Community Health, the two-year renewal period in which you must complete the required CPE depends on when your license was issued. For example, if your license was issued on 9/15/2023 and expires on 9/15/2025, then you must have completed the required CPE within that two-year period.

  • active Dentist-Community Health licensees must complete 50 hours of approved CPE

At least 2 of the required CPE hours must be from a course covering infection control.

In addition to the CPE, all licensees must provide evidence that they have successfully completed a current course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). For complete information on the CPE requirements, see Section 6.0 of the Board’s Rules and Regulations.

For a list of Board-approved CPE courses, see Approved CE Providers.

General Audit Information

Random audits are performed by the Board to ensure compliance with the license requirements. License holders selected for the random audit must verify that they have completion of the required CPE, as applicable and any other information required by the Board to confirm their continued eligibility for the license. For complete information, see Section 6.8 of the Board’s Rules and Regulations.

Audit Requirements

Do not upload any CPE documentation into DELPROS unless notified that you have been selected for audit.
If you are selected for audit, you must upload a copy of:

  • your current CPR certification card

At a minimum, the documentation for each course must show:

  • Your name
