Search & Verify a License Online

You can access public professional licensure information for individuals or facilities, including any disciplinary documents that may be on the record. Click on Search & Verify License and follow the instructions to access this quick, easy, and free service. Online license verifications are considered “primary source verifications” for purposes of credentialing. If an official license verification is required follow the below instructions.


Compact License Verifications

This pertains to privilege to practice licenses in Delaware. To view the information, click on the linked heading.

If you searched for a Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license and did not find a licensee, check the PT Compact Commission Verification page to see if the PT or PTA holds a compact privilege in Delaware.
If you searched for a Psychologist and did not find a licensee, check the PSYPACT Verification page to see if the licensee holds an interstate compact privilege in Delaware.


To Receive License Verifications from Other Jurisdictions

Follow the instructions below to have a license verification or letter of good standing from another state or jurisdiction sent directly to the Delaware Board Office:

Official License Verification Requests to Other Jurisdictions

ALL LICENSE VERIFICATIONS ARE EMAILED. The Division of Professional Regulation no longer mails license verifications.

Official license verifications will include the following information:

  1. name of licensee,
  2. type of license,
  3. license status,
  4. date of licensure,
  5. date of expiration, and
  6. any disciplinary history.

If you need an official license verification to be emailed to another jurisdiction, click here or go to the  DELPROS home page and click on Apply/Manage a License and Service Requests tile, then follow the instructions below.

    • Log in to your DELPROS account and click on the Service Request link at the top of the page in the top dark blue banner.
    • Click on the Apply for a New Service Request button.
    • Answer the questions and follow the instructions in the Service Request application.   It is important that you include the recipient’s name, organization and email address.   The licensee will also receive a copy of the License Verification sent to other jurisdiction/agency.

 

IMPORTANT: If you are NOT the licensee and need to request a License Verification for someone else’s license, use the License Verification Request Form.  Follow the instructions on the form closely, in particular the recipient section.
 
DO NOT use the form to request a license verification of your own license. You need to submit an online Service Request in DELPROS using the instructions above. 
 
NOTE: All requests will be processed in the order in which it was received.
 
If you are requesting an official verification for any of the following license types: Physician M.D., Physician D.O., Physician-Limited, Physician Assistant, ACGME Training, Administrative Medical, or Nursing licenses, see the special instructions sections below for Medical Practice or Nursing.


Special Instructions for Medical Practice License Verifications

To verify a Delaware Physician M.D., Physician D.O., Physician-Limited, Physician Assistant, ACGME Training, or Administrative Medical license, you must submit the request directly through VeriDoc. Physician (including Physician Training), Physician Assistant, and Administrative license verification requests to another state or jurisdiction are not accepted.

You may only request an official verification from the Delaware Board office for Physician M.D., Physician D.O., Physician-Limited, Physician Assistant, ACGME Training, or Administrative Medical licenses when the verification is for:

  • an organization or agency other than a state licensing board.
  • Veterans Administration (VA) facility, insurance companies, hospitals, or physician placement firm verifications will be accepted.

If you hold a license from the Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline, not in one of the above license types, submit the official verification request following the instructions above. This includes Respiratory Care, Acupuncture, Eastern Medicine, and Genetic Counselor practitioners. VeriDoc does not verify these types of Delaware licenses.


Special Instructions for Nursing License Verifications

The Division of Professional Regulation only provides official license verifications for Nurses for the following reasons:

  • Visa screen
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license
  • Veterans Administration healthcare facility or regional office

If you fall into one of the above categories, follow the instructions above for submitting a Service Request under the Official License Verification Requests to Other Jurisdictions section.

For all other reasons do not submit a service request, go to www.nursys.com.


Verification Fees

There is no charge for using the online license verifications in Search & Verify a License feature.

The fees for all official verifications are listed below. There are two ways the Verification fee(s) appear in your online cart, and its based on whether a Service Request or the License Verification Request form is submitted.

  • After following the Service Request instructions for the official verification shown above, your fee will automatically appear in your secure online portal shopping cart upon submission of the Service Request.  The License Verification will be sent to the recipient and a copy to the licensee.
  • If you need to submit the form because you are not the licensee and is requesting the License Verification for someone else’s license, the licensee will be sent an email advising them to pay fee when the fee has been added to their cart.  They may pay the fee or delegate it to someone else to pay.  After the payment is made, the License Verification will be sent to recipient and a copy to the licensee.

 
All fees must be paid by credit card online through DELPROS. Do not send a check, cash, or money order to the Board office.

  • $35 for each verification requested unless you are requesting a special verification.
  • $45 for each special license verification (includes standard verification plus additional information.) Only the following can be requested in a special license verification:
    • Accountancy CPA Exam Scores—for Delaware CPA Certificate or Permit holders only.  If you do not hold a Delaware CPA Certificate or Permit, you must order a Candidate Score Transfer from the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA).
    • Accountancy School Verification
    • Architect Exam Scores
    • Cosmetology and Barbering Practical and Theory Exam Scores
    • Cosmetology and Barbering Apprentice Hours
    • Cosmetology and Barbering Professional School Verification (only for individuals who currently or previously held a Delaware license)
    • Dental Exam Scores
    • Geology Exam Scores
    • Real Estate Licensure History
    • Professional Land Surveyors Scores
    • Verification of Supervised Hours (if required by the profession)

If your profession is not listed above, the Division of Professional Regulation is only able to provide a Service Request for license verifications without exam scores. The following professions must contact the national organization for exam score verification:

  • For Physical Therapy exam scores, contact FSBPT.
  • For Social Work exam scores, contact ASWB.
