NEW CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK PROCESS
The new process for obtaining a criminal background check is effective as of September 5, 2023.
NOTE: The Criminal Background Check Authorization form is no longer needed. All fingerprinting is now completed digitally through IdentoGO.
Important Information:

- Applicants are responsible for the accuracy of the information entered into their IdentoGo registration, including selecting the proper service code.
*Criminal Background Checks (CBC) requested with incorrect information will result in the applicant having to complete the entire CBC process again including paying the processing fee.

- Based on federal law, the Division of Professional Regulation (Division) is not authorized to release copies of CBCs to the applicant or any other agency.
*The ONLY exception in which the Division may provide a copy of a CBC directly to the applicant is when the applicant needs to dispute charges contained on the CBC for the purpose of Delaware licensure.

A Delaware criminal background check cannot be forwarded or transferred to another state/jurisdiction for the purpose of licensure
or used for any other purpose (e.g., employment).
