Our Mission in Action

The mission of the Division of Professional Regulation (DPR) is to ensure protection of the public’s health, safety and welfare. Our services benefit the citizens of Delaware, professional licensees, license applicants, other state and national agencies, and private organizations.


DPR provides regulatory oversight for 37 boards and commissions, comprised of Governor‑appointed public and professional members.

What We Do

Guide Applicants:
Helping individuals navigate the licensure process from start to finish.
License with Integrity:
Reviewing, issuing, and renewing licenses for qualified professionals and facilities.
Maintain a Licensure Database:
Providing the public with vital licensure information to confirm license status, notifying licensees of renewal periods and continuing education requirements, and assisting other state and federal agencies in accomplishing their missions.
Serve the Public:
Responding to inquiries from individuals, agencies, and organizations about Delaware‑licensed professionals.
Investigations & Resolutions:
Safeguard the public by investigating complaints involving licensed professionals and collaborating with the Attorney General’s Office to ensure case resolutions and disciplinary proceedings comply with the Administrative Procedures Act.
Oversee & Ensure Compliance:
Directing all board and commission activities to ensure testing, licensing, disciplinary proceedings, rule‑making, and other regulatory functions are completed efficiently and in full compliance with the Delaware Code and applicable rules and regulations.
Support Legislative Review & Compliance:
Assisting boards and commissions during Joint Legislative Oversight and Sunset Committee reviews, ensuring adherence to and implementation of the Committee’s recommendations.
Lead Stakeholder Engagement:
Facilitate communication between boards, commissions, licensees, the public, and other government agencies to ensure transparency, accessibility, and effective service delivery.
