NEW CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK PROCESS

The new process for obtaining a criminal background check is effective as of September 5, 2023.

NOTE: The Criminal Background Check Authorization form is no longer needed. All fingerprinting is now completed digitally through IdentoGO.


Important Information:

  • Applicants are responsible for the accuracy of the information entered into their IdentoGo registration, including selecting the proper service code.

    • *Criminal Background Checks (CBC) requested with incorrect information will result in the applicant having to complete the entire CBC process again including paying the processing fee.

  • Based on federal law, the Division of Professional Regulation (Division) is not authorized to release copies of CBCs to the applicant or any other agency.

    • *The ONLY exception in which the Division may provide a copy of a CBC directly to the applicant is when the applicant needs to dispute charges contained on the CBC for the purpose of Delaware licensure.

Instructions for Obtaining Your Federal and State Criminal History Checks

The below service codes to obtain a criminal background check are only for the purpose of licensure in Delaware.
A Delaware criminal background check cannot be forwarded or transferred to another state/jurisdiction for the purpose of licensure
or used for any other purpose (e.g., employment).
