On September 19, 2024, Senate Bill 320 was signed into legislation to amend Chapter 37 of Title 24. This Act created a new license type for a Speech/Language Pathology Assistant, under the Board of Speech Pathologists, Audiologists, and Hearing Aid Dispensers to address the shortage of speech/language pathology services in the State, specifically in public schools.
A licensed Speech/Language Pathology Assistant will be required to practice under the supervision of a Delaware-licensed Speech/Language Pathologist.

The Board’s statutory authority is in 24 Del. C., Chapter 37.
Unless notified otherwise, the Board meets the third Tuesday of each month at 2:00 p.m., except April and December. All meetings are open to the general public and are held in the Cannon Building, 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, in Dover.The meeting schedule is available at the State of Delaware public meeting calendar.
The Board may need to review and approve your application for licensure and will only review a complete application. A complete application includes your application and any documentation submitted through DELPROS and/or any documents submitted through the mail or email from third-parties. The Board will review your documentation at its next scheduled meeting.
