Justice of the Peace (Magistrates) are appointed by the Governor of Delaware and confirmed by the Delaware Senate. The Governor’s Magistrate Screening Committee screens persons who are interested in being considered for possible appointment as Justices of the Peace.

Applications for Justices of the Peace are not being accepted at this time. If you are interested in applying during the next screening, send an email to customerservice.dpr@delaware.gov requesting notification of the next screening. Include your name and the email address where notification may be sent. We will notify you via email when the next screening begins.
