Answers

Can I obtain a temporary permit?

Answer: No.

How long does it take to get a license?

Answer: With DELPROS, our online portal, application processing is very efficient. However, the amount of time it takes varies based on how quickly the application and all supporting documents are submitted and considered “complete”. When the application is complete, it is reviewed for approval of licensure on or before the next Board meeting. The meeting schedule is available on the State of Delaware public meeting calendar.

When is a firm required to register for a Certificate of Authorization?

Answer: See Certificate of Authorization.

Do I need to complete continuing education in order to renew my license?

Answer: See License Renewal.

When does my license expire?

Answer: See License Renewal.

If my license has expired, how long do I have to renew it?

Answer: See License Renewal.

How can I obtain my National Council of Architectural Registration Board file?

Answer: You can obtain your NCARB record by contacting NCARB. For information, visit the NCARB website.

How do I obtain a seal or rubber stamp?

Answer: The Board requires you to obtain and maintain either a seal press or rubber stamp for use on drawings and specifications. Most office supply stores can imprint a seal for you. Required board documents that are sealed with a seal press must be mailed in to the Board office, while rubber stamped sealed documents are permitted to be uploaded.

How do I request a wall certificate?

Answer: To receive a wall certificate in addition to the standard license certificate, submit a Service Request in DELPROS. The Board office will process your request and have it signed by a Board member at its next scheduled Board meeting and mailed out to you.

I have a Delaware architect license but I do not practice in Delaware at this time. Am I required to apply for a Certificate of Authorization?

Answer: If you or the firm that employs you does not practice architecture or offer architect services in Delaware, you are not required to apply for a Certificate of Authorization. However, if your status changes and you or the firm plan to practice or offer architecture services in Delaware, you must apply for the Certificate of Authorization.

Do I need to renew a Certificate of Authorization? If so, how often?

Answer: See License Renewal.
