The Division of Professional Regulation utilizes the external testing vendor, ProV Exam (ProV), to facilitate all the required licensure examinations for the Plumbing & HVACR trade, and the external testing vendor, Associated Builders and Contractors Delaware (ABC Delaware), for the “Apprenticeship-By-pass” examination for both trades should the Board also require this examination for licensure.

Be on the lookout for an email from ProV – you may need to check your spam folder!
You must obtain a minimum score of 70% to pass the exam. Should you require another attempt at the “Apprenticeship By-Pass” examination or a licensure examination, you may contact ABC Delaware or ProV directly, as detailed in the examination information materials originally issued to you for your initial examination. It is important to be aware that Regulations 2.2.2 and 3.1.6, state that Plumbing and HVACR applicants who do not receive a passing score after three (3) attempts must reapply as a new applicant and obtain the Board’s approval to sit for the licensure examination once again. You may not reapply until one (1) year has passed from the date you last took your examination.
Allow up to two weeks for the Board office to receive your official examination score. After the Board office receives your passing score and validates that you have met all Plumbing Licensure or HVACR Licensure requirements, your license will be issued.
You will receive an email notification stating that your license has been issued and will contain additional details about your license renewal and/or continuing education requirements.
