You may only apply for a Temporary Hearing Aid Dispenser license if you have already applied for a Hearing Aid Dispenser license. You must submit your Speech/Language, Audiology, or Hearing Aid Dispenser application by either examination or reciprocity before you can submit a temporary application.
All applications are only submitted through our online system DELPROS.
DELPROS allows you to save your incomplete application and return to it later to finish the process. You only have six (6) months to submit your application once you begin.
You may check the status of your application online throughout the entire application process by using the “View Application Status” feature in DELPROS on your e-License dashboard.
The requirements for this license type are provided in the following section(s).
The following items are required in addition to the items in the Requirements for All Applicants section above:
When you complete the six-month training period, arrange for the Board office to receive a
Supervisory Report form completed and signed by your supervisor to verify that you successfully completed your training. This must be submitted in the DELPROS system as a Service Request called HAD Supervisory Report Request.
When the Board office receives the verification, it will notify the International Hearing Society (IHS) that you are eligible to take the International Licensing Examination for Hearing Health Professionals. IHS will then send you instructions on registering for the exam.
When you have passed your national exam, you must also submit an application for a Hearing Aid Dispenser by Examination in DELPROS.
You will receive an email when your temporary license has been issued. We no longer mail paper licenses. To print your license, find the temporary license on your Dashboard. Click OPTIONS, then select Download Certificate.
A temporary license is valid for one year from the date of issuance. Your extension request should be submitted at least 60 days before the license expiration date.
Your temporary license can be extended up to 3 times for a maximum of 48 months. The Board must approve any extension of the temporary license.
To request an extension of your temporary license, follow the below steps to submit a Service Request:
