The primary objective of the Delaware Board of Electrical Examiners is to protect the general public from unsafe practices and practices which tend to reduce competition or fix prices for electrical services. The Board must also maintain standards of professional competence and service delivery. To meet these objectives, the Board
The Board issues licenses to apprentices, journeypersons, master electricians, master electricians special, limited electricians, residential electricians and limited electricians special. Master special and limited special licenses limit practice to certain specialties such as elevators or HVAC. The Board also licenses electrical inspection agencies.
The Board’s statutory authority is in 24 Del. C., Chapter 14.
The Board meets the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m., except August and December. All meetings are open to the general public and are held at 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, Cannon Building Conference Room A, Dover Delaware.
To ensure that business (such as a license application) is on the agenda for the Board to consider at its next meeting, submit all documentation to the Board office no later than 4:30 PM ten full working days before the meeting date.
