Emergency Order signed by the Board of Pharmacy and Secretary of State on July 1, 2025.

A pharmacy holding a Delaware permit may employ pharmacists who are not licensed/registered in Delaware to practice pharmacy by submitting a Notice of Intent to Practice in Delaware service request to obtain temporary authorization for the use of non-Delaware licensed pharmacists.

To submit the service request log into your Pharmacy’s e-Licensing Dashboard in DELPROS. You will be required to upload the following:

• Notice of Intent to Practice in Delaware forms with all pharmacist license verifications.

Objective and Function

The primary objective of the Delaware Board of Pharmacy is to promote, preserve, and protect the public health, safety, and welfare. To meet this objective, the Board

• maintains a registry of drug outlets that manufacture, produce, sell, and distribute drugs, medications, and other materials used to diagnose and prevent illness and disease and to treat injury
• monitors the outlets to ensure safe practices
• develops standards for professional competency
• promulgates rules and regulations
• adjudicates complaints against professionals and, when necessary, imposes disciplinary sanctions.

The Board issues licenses to pharmacists and pharmacy interns. It also licenses pharmacies (both in Delaware and elsewhere), pharmaceutical manufacturers and distributors, medical gas dispensers and retail businesses that sell non-controlled prescription drugs for veterinary use.

The Board’s statutory authority is in 24 Del. C., Chapter 25.

Meetings

Unless notified otherwise, the Board meets the third Wednesday of every month, with the exception of July and December. All meetings are open to the general public and are held in the Cannon Building, 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, in Dover. The meeting schedule is available at the State of Delaware public meeting calendar.

The Board/Commission may need to review and approve your application for licensure and will only review a complete application. A complete application includes your application and any documentation submitted through DELPROS and/or any documents submitted through the mail or email from third-parties. The Board/Commission will review your documentation at its next scheduled meeting.
